QS 2012 世界大學領域排名
—臺大土木世界第31名

英國Quacquarelli Symonds（QS）機構於今年七月公佈2012年度世界大學排行榜領域排名（QS 2012 World University Rankings by Subject），包含五大領域、二十九個專業領域之世界排名，其中國立臺灣大學在土木工程領域中排名世界第31名，不僅較去年大幅進步23名，並且榮登國內工程領域於該項世界排名之最佳者。

這份公佈中五個與工程科技相關的專業領域，臺大都是國內最優，其中又以土木排名最佳，詳細排名如下（括弧內為去年 QS 2011排名）：土木31（54）、化工48（67）、資訊65（112）、機械67（94）、電機71（77）。除了臺大，本次國內大學工程專業領域進入百大的還包括清大資訊98（142）及清大化工91（111）。此外，材料領域（一般歸類於工程領域，但在QS分類中為自然科學）國內也表現優異，包括台大材料59（38）及清大材料99（71）。

排名計算方式

英國Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd 機構自2004年起舉辦世界大學排名調查與分析，並於2011年起新增各不同學術領域之排名。該項世界大學領域排名乃是依據「學術聲望AR」、「雇主評價ER」以及「論文引用率CPP」等三項指標加權計算總和後再加以排序。而依照各學術領域特性之不同，其加權方式亦有所差異，舉例來說土木工程領域之加權方式為AR50%、ER30%、CPP20%，而地球科學領域則為AR40%、ER10%、CPP50%，各領域之加權方式可參見表1。三項排名指標中之「學術聲望」與「雇主評價」兩個項目主要以問卷方式向全世界相關機構之專業人士調查而得，2012年總計回收學術單位問卷33744份，雇主問卷16785份，藉由這些問卷評估各學校領域之聲望以及業界評價。至於「論文引用率」之分數計算則是依據Scopus文獻資料庫所統計於2006年至2010年間各單位所發表論文之被引用總數除以該單位學術人員數量，其中自我引用（self citations）的部份是被排除的，此外值得注意的是該項排名所引用的文獻資料庫並非國內最為重視的SCI資料庫，而是包含許多新興期刊以及國際重要會議論文的Scopus資料庫，這使得其所統計的文獻來源以及種類更加豐富與廣泛。

各領域排名分析

QS 2012世界大學領域排名共區分為「藝術人文」（Art & Humanities）、「工程科技」（Engineering & Technology）、「生命科學與醫藥」（Life Sciences & Medicine）、「自然科學」（Natural & Medicine）以及「社會科學與管理」（Social Sciences & Management）等五大領域，其下再細分為二十九項專業領域，並依照各專業領域分別計算排名。在二十九個領域中台灣各個大學總計有三十九個學校領域排名進入世界前一百名，其中八個學校領域進入世界前五十名，而進入世界百大的國內學校領域以藝術人文領域為最多（佔31%），其次為自然科學領域（佔26%），至於進入世界前五十名的國內學校領域則仍以藝術人文領域為最多（佔50%），其次為工程科技領域（佔25%）。而在台灣大學部份，總計有二十四個領域進入世界百大，七個領域進入世界前五十名，為國內所有院校表現最佳者（見圖1），而臺大除了在數學及現代語言兩個領域外，其餘所有專業領域之排名皆為國內之最佳者（註1），顯見本校在各領域皆能平衡且優異的發展。此外，雖然今年度QS世界大學綜合排名還未出爐，但從領域排名來看臺大在今年的各領域排名均有顯著進步，因此今年度臺大的整體排名應可較去年再進一步（QS 2011臺大整體排名為全球第87名）。

註1：臺灣大學無教育領域，國內該領域以成大（排名61）表現最佳。

臺大土木工程領域排名分析

在土木工程領域方面，本系世界排名為第31名，不僅較去年大幅進步23名（QS 2011排名為54），並且為國內所有工程領域在QS 2012排名中表現最優者，而在各分項指標方面臺灣大學土木工程領域在「學術聲望」、「雇主評價」及「論文引用率」分別排名世界第28、52、68名（見表2），其中「雇主評價」較去年進步17名，「論文引用率」則進步30名，而「學術聲望」則略降5名（見表3），三項指標不僅皆名列世界百大，且在抽象聲望或實質量化層面均能夠不斷且均衡地發展，反映出本系所有師生多年的努力正逐漸開花結果。
