簡介:

Hello, NTU CE!

My name is Howard (Hao-Che) Ho. I am the junior faculty at National Taiwan University. I received my PhD degree from The University of Iowa with Civil and Environmental Engineering major in 2010 and continued my research as the post-doctoral researcher at IIHR-Hydroscience and Engineering from 2010 to 2012. I worked as the assistant professor at Zhejiang University from 2012 to 2016 and then became the associate professor until getting this opportunity to work with NTU.

My technical background mainly includes applied and fundamental aspects of research and consulting in water resources and environmental river hydraulics. I recently put my effort in multidisciplinary scientific methods promoting the innovative image-based and acoustic-based techniques for integrated measurements in applied river hydraulics. Among the activities conducted in the applied river engineering my research efforts also dedicated to sediment-flow interaction, uncertainty analysis, flood monitoring, and flood managements. As for the fundamental research, I work with a variety of field and laboratory investigations covering both micro-scale (turbulence, particle-fluid interaction) as well as macro-scale river hydraulic processes (sediment transport, flows in confluences, reservoirs, sediment-control and flow-conditioning structures).

Since my background, I fortuitously involved in large international collaborative programs between US/European institutions and academic partners in Taiwan and China. In the future, I’d like and hope to work as a scientific and research ambassador with my continuous and prompt willingness to help and my easiness to work in teams at NTU CE family!
